Soldiers Pluck Out Road Safety Official's Eye

Segun Enikuemehin, an officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), got more than he bargained for in his encounter with Nigerian Soldiers recently. It was reported that he had come upon the soldiers beating a civillian to a stupor and had pleaded with them to let him go, saying that if the civillian had committed a crime, they should hand him over to the police instead of carrying out jungle justice.

 
They promptly descended on him and beat him thoroughly and he managed to rescue the battered civilian and take him to the police station. He then returned with policemen to the scene of the incident after which the soldiers, rcognising him descended on him again and injured him, his eyes falling out in the process. It was picked up by one of the policemen. Residents in the area helped to overpower the soldiers, but a relative of the injured officer reported that when they got to the station, the soldiers had already been released.
