UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN, IBADAN, NIGERIA
OFFICE OF THE VICE-CHANCELLOR
WELCOME NOTE TO ALL STUDENTS ON RESUMPTION FOR
THE SECOND SEMESTER, 2015/2016 SESSION
Greatest UITEs
On behalf of the Management of the University of Ibadan,
it is my pleasure to welcome you back from the brief break after the First Semester examination.
The second Semester of the 2015/2016 session is expected to start
in earnest.
It is our hope and plan that the rest of the session will
run without hitch to ensure that the session is
completed by January 2017 in line with the adjusted
university calendar.
The Management and I have and will continue to explore ways of improving the living conditions that will facilitate concentration and improve the quality of learning, teaching and research, especially provision of
municipal services notably electricity and water.
The Management is committed and open to exploring
fresh ideas and will continue to open its doors for
meetings and consultations with students’ leaders and
bodies that represent the student's interests- academic,
welfare, social and entrepreneurial.
It is crucial to maintain peace on campus at all costs
because of its implications on the safety of students and
because it ensures that the institution’s calendar run
without interruption.
I must commend the high sense of responsibility and
seriousness with which you comported yourself during
the First Semester examination; provisional reports
confirm that there are excellent results in spite of the
initial challenges at the beginning of the session.
As you are aware, lectures are to begin on Monday, 15
August, 2016 while the Second Semester Examinations
are to commence barely 13 weeks from now.
Once again, I welcome you to the new semester which
promises to be even more rewarding. Thank you and God
bless.
